God Rakhi
Traditionally India is a spiritualistic country where Gods are generally worshiped in "sakara forms". No festival is completed without invoking the names of god. The spiritualist traditions manifest itself in various festivals in India. In the festival of Raksha bandhan sisters tie the Rakhi knot containing the images of various gods and goddesses and thus try to seek their blessings for their brothers. These types of Rakhis give religious feelings to the festival.The gods which are popularly depicted on Rakhi are Gopal-Krishna, Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Mother goddess Laxmi, Sarswati, Durga, Sacred symbols like OM, Swastika etc. Each gods has certain characteristics and sisters while tying Rakhi of certain god pray him to bestow her brother with health, wealth and prosperity.
